This video documents a commemoration held at the Local 1033 union hall in Southeast Chicago in 2009. During the strike, ten strike supporters at the Republic mill in Southeast Chicago were killed by city police and nearly a hundred wounded. This clip shows an enactment of late 19th century black labor activist Lucy Parsons describing Chicago labor history.
